    I have been able to work on lots of exciting projects for Scholastic both because of Maternity cover and also because, knowing my background in design the company gave me many opportunities to use my creative skills. Throughout my time with Scholastic I have liaised closely with other departments, both in terms of the direct responsibilities of my role and undertaking additional tasks to support the team such as attending company events to meet authors and sell books, data processing for other teams and giving advice on social media and current entertainment. I am very much a team player and enjoy being involved in a variety of extra activities such as organising company social events and am very pleased to have been chosen as a member of the Employee Partnership Group which meets regularly with the Managing Director and Head of Human resources to discuss topics in the workplace Sales Executive (acting role – maternity leave cover ) • Managing accounts in Ireland, Heritage sites and Independent Booksellers • Liasing with export customers in Western Europe and the Middle East Trade Coordinator • Collating and designing newsletters to send to customers using photoshop/publisher/powerpoint • Creating posters to send to buyers • Creating ideas for proof book mailings • Writing copy for presentation slides Special Sales Assistant • This also included all the tasks listed within the Sales Assistant job • Working closely with the Special Sales Manager on Special Sales deals • Processing PO's for large volumes of books • Presenting books to wholesalers and Special Accounts • Creating ideas for book partnerships, special mailings, care packages, book box sets Sales Assistant – Duties include: • Overseeing the administration, storage and retrieval of the sales material in the office • Assisting the Sales team with preparation of sales material for meetings with all Key Accounts • Working closely with the Design and Editorial departments to facilitate and assist with the collation and mailing of monthly sales kits and advance proof and marketing material • Providing sales material to both Export, Ireland based agents and Field Sales Reps • Creating and running the Scholastic Sales Twitter account – created for our sales team to liaise more closely with Waterstones stores. • Preparation of Powerpoint presentations for Sales team • Completion of Excel spreadsheets with customer and promotional information • Obtain accurate sales figures through Harper Collins Bids system and Nielsen Bookscan • Maintaining databases with customer details, submissions and sales • Processing invoices to ensure prompt payment • Making meeting and travel arrangements
