About me

After finishing a degree in marine biology, I decided to venture towards marine and environmental conservation. I know that film and TV are the most powerful forms of communication to the general public, therefore I focused all my attention on passing the incredibly important message on through these means. Travel and marine conversation work over the last two years has lead me to discover my passion for filmmaking and exploration in this field. There are always new stories and adventures to discover and tell. I have a great love for diving and sailing, which both allow me access to the marine environment in very direct ways, which I believe deliver a unique and special picture of the conditions and workings of our oceans. For the last few years I have been looking at some of the, what I believe are, gaps in the market in film along side marine and environmental conservation. I deeply believe in the power of young people and the importance of their voice in the media and science, to go on to promote a healthy way of life for the planet's future. But I have also been discovering places that I believe have such significant importance in these areas, for example, South Africa's oceans and marine life, as well as that of the Sea of Cortez in Mexico. Recent film production and field shooting allowed me to throw myself into the conditions of working as a camerawoman as well as scientist. On a month long project in Costa Rica filming exotic birds, I truly got to know what it takes to work in this extremely demanding field and unpredictable line of work. But with the challenges brought to us everyday, it only encouraged and made me more motivated. Through the beautiful art of nature documentary filmmaking, I sincerely believe that a difference can be made in the conservation and protection of our oceans, and this is what I will continue to strive towards.
