I am an experienced editorial professional and studio coordinator and have worked with Thomas Heatherwick/Heatherwick Studio, Vice, and New Scientist, among others.
I have contributed commissioned and regular written content to to New Scientist, Vice, Gawker Media, The Independent, Fest Magazine, The Wrong Quarterly (where I also act as Editor), and USA Today. This work has required the use and/or production of SEO optimisation, advertorial content, graphic design software including InDesign, and bespoke CMS.
I provide support across all design teams, coordinating schedules and working closely with team leaders to make sure that project administration runs smoothly. I provide administrative support to HR, take on front-of-house duties, and work closely with communications teams in efforts to overhaul NDA and media relations strategies. Crucially, I uphold the standards of aesthetics and professionalism which come directly from Thomas Heatherwick himself. This work has required the use of Excel, Outlook, and HelpDesk, as well as research databases including JStor and ProQuest.
In addition to contributing content to several Gawker Media brands, I took on operations and administration responsibilities in their Manhattan office during the lead-up to my resettling in London.
I implemented online and social media branding for interactive marketing features. Campaigns included interactive content for the Transformers franchise, (500) Days Of Summer, and Hannah Montana (among other Disney titles), and acted as press liaison.
Initially an editorial intern, my role expanded into that of editorial assistant at Vice Media, and subsequently into an online editor position for Viceland.com (as it was then called). My duties included transferring/archiving content within a custom CMS, and developing editorial, advertorial, and social media content for both print and online editions.
