Arvid Trolle is a co-founder of Njord Partners, a special situations investor that manages funds in the European middle-market.
In his role as co-portfolio manager, he directs Njord’s investment strategy which covers over 30 businesses across multiples sectors, including infrastructure, TMT, retail, industrials, healthcare and offshore energy services. He is heavily involved in the value creation process, which see him regularly engaging with management teams and all relevant stakeholders.
Having driven Njord Partners’ investment in Geoquip Marine, Arvid Trolle has since served the company as a member of their board, with his efforts helping to earn a spot on the shorlist for “Turnaround Debt Provider of the Year 2017” by the Institute for Turnaround. He continues to hold further board positions at other firms including Il Lanificio Retail, Nuova Deroma Spa and Valiant Pubs Company, while he is an advisory board member to Ancona International Airport and SolidAl Conductores Eletricos. SolidAl, a prominent manufacturer of power cables, conductors and integrated solutions for energy transmission and distribution, was named “International Turnaround of the Year, 2020” by the Turnaround Management Association under his stewardship.
He previously held a board seat at DeepOcean from May 2011 to August 2015, during which the firm earned “International Turnaround of the year, 2012” by the Turnaround Management Association.
Arvid Trolle has accrued over 20 years’ experience in finance. Before Njord Partners was established, Arvid served as Vice President of the Opportunities Funds at Oaktree Capital Management from 2007 to 2012, with a specialism in distressed debt and opportunistic credit investing. He also previously worked as an Associate at Lazard from 2005 to 2007, focusing on corporate finance and M&A, and as a technology sector Analyst at Broadview International, having begun his career in equity research at Deutsche Bank. Arvid has a MSc in Finance from Stockholm University, and has lived in Stockholm, Brussels, Madrid and London.
