Ultra Challenge Organiser

Spearheaded the Athletics and Cross-Country club portion of the Run/Bike cross-national Campus-to-Campus Challenge from June 7th-11th, raising £8000+ for the university's Access to Activities fund. Plotted safe, runner friendly routes from Canterbury to Paris (via Brussels and Saint Quentin); organised relays, matching participants with partners and distances/routes tailored to their varying abilities; booked transport (minibus and ferry across the Channel) and a week’s accommodation for 7, on a £500 budget. Worked with staff at the University of Kent Union over the 6-week planning stage; communicated, negotiated and translated in French on behalf of the group while abroad; advised participants on post-run nutrition and rehabilitation.

Led club of 70+ members; selected teams and organised competitions, both national (Kent County Cross Country races, Gloucester Cross Country BUCs, Sheffield Athletics BUCs) and international (Lisbon half marathon), for the cross country and athletics teams. Planned flights, hotels, travel to and from airports, and meals; devised and managed weekly training sessions.
