PhD Thesis explores the role and value of Public Service Broadcasting in the digital media economy.
It explores the relationship between people and their media experiences and seeks to understand the various ways in which they (audiences, industry personnel, journalists, politicians, regulators etc.) attribute value to the BBC.
This research looks at the criticism the BBC has faced about its worth in relation to; the impartiality of its news output, the license fee being fit for purpose, and its response to the impact of Covid-19, the resurgence of the Black Lives Matter movement and the growing concerns around the future of Children’s TV.
