Aysha Shah is a furniture and product designer maker, who loves to experiment and create unique designs. She has a solid foundation in traditional furniture making and learnt these techniques whilst studying at the London College of Furniture, Cass School of Design. In her final year and since graduating, she has won competitions and awards, collaborating with Ligne Roset, Heals, Butchoff Antiques and Briar Connect Furniture. Aysha takes inspiration from the world around her. She loves travelling, different cultures, history, nature, science and mathematics, from fractal geometry to radiolarians, anatomy and cityscapes, sources of inspiration from unusual places inspire her practice. A combination of influences from art, craft, science and technology are always at the heart of her designs. She is interested in new applications and novel composites for traditional materials such as: timbers, MDF, sheet acrylics, wood veneer, resins and finishes and modern technology such as LED lighting technology laser and CNC cutting, as well as traditional tools. Aysha is available for commissions, projects and consultancy.
