About me
A keen and enthusiastic graphic designer that always aims to deliver creative solutions to the highest standards. My hands on approach to graphic design has enabled me to achieve high grades throughout my years of education and I am expected to achieve a first when I graduate from university. Proficient on both Mac OS and Windows operating systems, I use Adobe Suit software’s daily and regularly complete project in Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign. Furthering that I have taken extra Adobe courses to achieve my ACA accreditation in which I am now certified to use Photoshop and Illustrator professionally. I have demonstrated that I am hard working and self motivated when I have previously managed the workshop independently at Elite Graphix when colleges were out of office. I am always challenging myself with out of the box thinking and am eager to learn more about the world of graphic design; this was proven when I interned at Emmerson Press, in which I was determined to understand the print process in more depth. As a result I now have valuable knowledge of jet-press, digital and litho printing techniques, as well as preparing artwork correctly to be print ready. My work experiences mean that I have had plenty of practice communicating with clients and team members both face-to-face and over the phone. My portfolio is abundant with creative flair and showcases bold and eye catching graphic design, which has enabled me to produce work to a high standard. Please see my portfolio for examples of my best practice. Every morning before work started at Elite Graphix, I updated the to-do list so that I was prepared for the tasks and optimised my workload for the day. This is a technique I have carried with me as it has improved my organisational skills and allows me to finish briefs before the deadline and efficiently complete multiple projects. I am able interpret design briefs successfully and I pride myself on creating work that impresses clients and provides out of the box thinking. An example of this is where I turned an uninspiring client brief with a tight deadline, into an effective design. I then installed the graphics onto their exhibition stand that was used at the event “Bodypower” in Birmingham. This has allowed me to work in all areas of the creative process, from design to print to installation. Although my experiences are mostly in the print sector, I have a keen interest in UI/UX design for apps and websites. Please find the web address to my portfolio website that I have designed to fit my personal branding and house style. Aside from design, my other passion is in the field of photography in which I have been noticed via social media and secured some online sales. This experience in photography has meant I have produced motion/animation work that requires video editing using Adobe After-Effects or Premier Pro.

Whilst working at Emmerson Press I was able to obtain a deeper understanding of the print process and learn how industrial sized printers worked. My time here has allowed me to gain an insight into: A range of printing techniques such as Lino-printing, Jet Press printing and Litho-printing The pre-press process in which artwork is imposed and prepared to print The finishing team where the final designs are laminated, cropped and folded using manufacturing machinery.

Elite Graphix is a design and print company that also construct exhibition stands and signage for events. Working in several areas of the business but my primary role was to design promotional collateral for commercial businesses including the protein company “Xinx” that was featured in BodyPower 2017. Whilst on placement I had to work on several project simultaneously and produce work to high standard in a demanding environment. As a result of this I dramatically improved my caseload management and confirmed I can work well under pressure. In addition to being the designer I worked closely with individuals from other disciplines and was entrusted to manage the company independently when colleges were out of office.
