award winning branding specialist & all-round creative, with a life-long passionate interest in art, design & architecture. living in amsterdam since 2004 & loving the vibrancy of this beautiful city. extensive experience with national & international projects; from discussing budgets& planning, concepting ideas, presenting to clients & board of directors, to delivering definitive artwork. from art direction, overseeing the creative team & mentoring junior designers to working with external production agencies & other partners. can be regularly seen at gallery openings & creative launches, singing along at concerts of all musical tastes & socialising at inspirational talks & pop-up events ... always actively finding inspiration everywhere & anywhere!

    staring at jacobbriefed to design a characterful stamp type logo, maybe including an eye because of the cafe name. this comes from the corner of the two streets that the cafe sits on: staringstraat & jacob van lennepkade. the eye was dropped as it was a little scary, but the rustic stamp effect remained! black & brown colours were used to compliment the industrial & rustic wooden interior.

    het atelierhet atelier is a creative focal point that could be included within any home store. the brand identity was designed to be flexible enough to fit any store name. the department formula brings together a specially selected range of het atelier branded paint, fabric & flooring samples, as well as, window decorations, accessories & furniture displayed in various shop-in shops around a central workshop. this is where the interior designer works closely with the customers developing their personal style & creating a distinctive home. the brand identity reflects this in the tag line "together create your own style". an industrial style of illustration was created to emphasis that the products are handcafted with traditional skills.

    de kinderkliniekde kinderkliniek covers three floors of a new office building which has been transformed into a children’s day care & short stay hospital. the brand identity, illustration style & interior design is bold & cheerful to disguise the stark office architecture & distract the children, but is also professional looking. it was important for everyone to feel cared for & safe in a homely environment with each floor having it's own distinct colour theme. it became a community project with the patients taking part in photoshoots & the employees being involved at every stage.

    working on a variety of freelance projects created individually or as part of a team within an agency. extensive experience with national & international branding & retail briefs; from concepting ideas & presenting to clients, right up to delivering definitive artwork; overseeing the creative team, junior designers & external production agencies. - whilst working individually on briefs have developed many professional working relationships with clients to understand their desires and meet deadlines. - whilst working in partnership with creative director KIM MANNES-ABBOTT developed the new graphical concept & all instore communications for ALBERT HEIJN TO GO - NL. - whilst working within the team at STOREAGE, NL created complete store concepts for children’s branch of the sports retailer ANTA - CHN; the breathable shoes & clothes retailer GEOX - IT; the children’s superstore KIDSWANT - CHN; the whitegoods superstore WORTEN - PT; as well as, creating a 5th element & instore graphic concepts for the lingerie retailer HUNKEMOLLER - NL. recent projects have been mainly focused on retail branding, working within various dynamic teams developing design strategies for store environments, on all scales. have created many successful corporate identities for well known brands including the writing of design manuals & guidelines. i love that, as a graphic designer, you get the opportunity to create everything from signage to brochures, window displays & events, to packaging & websites, & everything in between! ... there is nothing better than a consistent look & feel to a brand!
