  • Don't Hug Me I'm Scared 4
Don't Hug Me I'm Scared 4For Becky and Joe's fourth instalment of their popular Don't Hug Me I'm Scared series, I created various sizes and shapes of felt books for the felt bookcase, designing small pictures and details for the spines of each.
  • Fulfilment
FulfilmentThis realist drama, based around three young characters working in a warehouse, involved the building and filling of a giant warehouse set. I located and ordered the shelves - as well as handheld scanners and other action props -and prepared box after box to be placed on them. I helped to create the concrete effect on pillars in the 'warehouse' and, when the script required it, helped to age and destroy the set we had created.
  • Dark Was The Night
Dark Was The NightFor this short film, about a father and daughter stranded on a spaceship, I participated in each stage of the set's transformation. I helped to paint walls, construct and design space-like dressing - the pattern of food tokens on the daughter's bedside wall in particular - as well as making and putting together the padding and gratings around the inside of the hatch. When filming began, I jumped in to provide props, re-set scenes and ensure continuity.
  • A video CV
A video CVI wound each letter from black metal wire to create this energetic stop motion animation and exercise in self promotion.
  • Once Upon an Iceberg
Once Upon an IcebergI helped to create the interior and exteriors sets, designed by Lizzie Osborne, for the NFTS stop motion animation Once Upon An Iceberg. This involved the use of many varied materials including mod rock, plaster, resin and sophisticated processes such as poly-sculpting and airbrushing. I also designed and built a detailed boat for the sailor puppets and many miniature props to make the inside set (an ice cave) look more lived in.
  • Confection
ConfectionFor the short film Confection, based around a teenage boy's work experience at a chocolate company, I designed four chocolates with the light, quirky tone and seaside setting of the script in mind and made fifty of each to line the shelves and surfaces of the chocolate kitchen. I combined Fimo with real ingredients - Hundreds and Thousands and cocoa powder - on a couple of these designs to make them look even more edible. I also designed and built personalised chocolate boxes for the characters and sculpted some action props -a Blu-Tack hamburger, hot dog and carton of french fries- for a character whose main classroom preoccupation is making Blu-Tack fast food. I assisted the art director on set, helping to dress the classroom and chocolate kitchen, re-set props after each take and provide art work for the character.
