My name is Ben J. Young but feel free to call me Benjy. I have a penchant for all things related to visual communication, and I pride myself on both my professionalism and approachability. I'm an award winning qualified designer, (The 2013 visualising award by The Cumberland Pencil company) I completed my BA Hons degree in the same year where I studied Graphic Communication and Illustration. I've worked for feelunique.com and Logfiller as a designer in the marketing division where I've learnt the importance of both brand identity and UX design from a long running successful company and for one I helped develop the brand at the beginning. I completed a range of tasks in both such as wire-framing, illustration, photography, web development using HTML5 and CSS3, responsive newsletters and graphics for both the site, social media outlets, and advertising elsewhere on the web in addition to helping out on various print projects. I have a strong and passionate understanding of my field for both print and web. This has been further strengthened by a bound of freelance work including digital SLR photography where I've covered both local and international music acts and an official photographer for Twice Dead Records. Gathering valuable experience along the way I have always delivered strong, sharp pieces; for a range of clients, notably a range of illustrations for The Institute of Directors. I am able to work under pressure to tight deadlines whilst ensuring my work is produced at the highest level. I've been described as highly organised, a good listener, friendly and a team player. I’m also highly motivated and a perfectionist, in which I strive to keep up-to-date while constantly improving my skills. I am a member of such design learning classes as Lynda and subscribed to a number of design magazines and continue to push forward additional skills in my own time. I'm rarely ever seen without a pencil, sketchbook and a camera in my bag. My career goals is to continue to learn and grow in the visual arts, while combining my creativity, knowledge, education and people skills to deliver an effective volume of work. http://benjyoung.co.uk/cv.pdf
