I’m excited by shapes, form, movement and colour. The tip of a pine-tree, the wave before it drops, the corner of a building, the curve of an eyebrow; I find these forms exciting. A kingfisher’s feathers, new sneakers, new sunrises, orange Lego blocks; I find these colours exciting. In life we’re provided with endless forms and colours and I excitedly recreate them in my illustration work, I enjoy creating exciting illustration, illustration that excites people.
I am a highly experienced illustrator, renowned for a positive, creative outlook and a solid understanding of commercial design, the visual arts and successful business. I love it. I relish diversity and welcome all opportunities; large or small, print or digital, editorial, advertising, publishing, interiors, fashion, surface patterns, murals and any other world beyond.
Projects
- Snapshots of MelbourneWhenever I have the opportunity to travel I will always take my sketchbook, sometimes my MacBook and (this time) even my Wacom tablet. Having returned from a month in one of my favourite cities on earth, I have a folio full of pencil drawings and colour illustrations as a visual journal of my time there.
- UK Barista ChampionshipsWorking alongside the UK chapter of the Specialty Coffee Association, I designed the branding and illustrated sets of creative assets for the UK Barista Championship events, running across the UK throughout 2024. The SCA hold their own stand-alone barista tournaments as well as managing events at coffee festivals, with categories including cupping, roasting, coffee-based cocktail making and latte art.
- The Old VicTeaming up with Fiasco Design again to work for our old friends at The Old Vic Theatre in London. After our fantastic Educational Hub project, we built a new interactive microsite focusing on set design. As before, the site is a free resource, ensuring an accessible education opening the curtains on the theatre industry to all. I illustrated an array of tools, theatrical resources and, most importantly, Model Boxes! A Model Box is the hand-crafted scale model that set directors use to plan and
- 'In Search of Berlin' by Atlantic BooksI worked alongside designer Mark Ecob on the cover design for John Kampfner’s book ‘In Search of Berlin’. As you can see I illustrated a collection of Berlin landscapes and notable architecture old and new for the book cover and marketing. Check out the book on Atlantic Books.
