About me
I'm a Fashion and Textile designer based in Leicester, I work mostly with Knitwear. My recent Pre-collection and Final Major Project for my graduate collection was all themed around the idea of Coral and the issues facing the climate. Sustainability is a major factor in most of my work and that is what I believe the focus should be in all areas. For my knitwear, I use a range of machines: Dubied, Shima (digital knit) and Domestic knit machines. Such a range has allowed me to design the best way for fashion design. In addition, a lot of my design work is very textural which has been aided by my skillset in all of the machines.
Projects
  • Beauty of Colour Final Major collection
Beauty of Colour Final Major collectionI created this collection as a continuation of my previous beauty of colour collection ideas. Except the twist with this project was that instead of looking at just coral I broadened the view to look at the oceans in general. Plastic pollution has affected every ocean and I wanted to contrast the two forms of the coral and the plastics.
  • Beauty of Colour Pre-Collection
Beauty of Colour Pre-CollectionThis was the first part in a series looking into the oceans and what effects humans may be having on them. For this first part I looked in to coral and the bleaching events that effect them and before long humans will have completely destroyed these habitats. The colour scheme I chose was completely white or cream to show bleaching events.
  • Rules Don't Apply
Rules Don't ApplyI created my 'Rules Don't Apply' with the idea of clothes just being clothes and it doesn't matter who is wearing them. A lot of my inspiration for this project came from neon lights and signs, therefore colour is an important part of my knitwear. The machines I used for this project were mainly domestic knit machines as this collection was created at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.
