I founded a bespoke celebration cake business, and run the entire operation:
• Designing and baking cakes for all occasions, I pride myself on my attention to detail, creative approach to cake design, and delicious textures and flavours.
• Worked with a graphic designer to develop the business branding, rolling this out across the website, social media and printed marketing collateral.
• Worked with developers to build the website, including layout, look and feel, SEO and copy. I manage the upkeep via a bespoke CMS. (www.spooned.london).
• Produced and styled an initial photoshoot working with a photographer to create assets for the website and branding. I have shot most subsequent imagery myself.
• Working with both individual customers and business clients such as Google, Rapha, Holland & Barrett, Three, and Sleek Makeup. Using my technical expertise and design ideas to collaborate with the client on how best to fulfil the brief with budget in mind, and ensuring the delivered product is of an exceptional standard.
• Budgeting and accounting, growing the business turnover 400% year-on-year without any initial investment.
• Building an organic social media following using strong images and engaging copy consistent with the brand, using customer insights and trends to plan posting schedule. (@spooned.london).
• Working on business development plans and marketing projects, such as collaborations, competitions, wedding fairs, magazine and blog feature submissions.
• Developing new and exciting recipes and techniques.
• Day-to-day operations such as kitchen management and customer service.
• Maintaining a 5* food hygiene rating awarded by the Food Standards Agency.
