Projects
- Wilde for WhistlesWhistles represents English quality and heritage. I created a series of perfumes exploring the Oscar Wilde short story ‘The Nightingale and the Rose’, a tragic fable about love, sacrifice, and botany. The visuals from the story spoke of gardens of herbs and flowers. Wilde’s poetic quality felt the perfect tone for a three-part series of perfumes, allowing me to craft each as though a chapter from his story.
Work history
Graphic Designer
I started my career at Lush on the shop floor as a Christmas temp, but eventually moved shops and became permanent staff, and was then selected to work on design projects in London (as the company is based in Poole) which allowed me to finally become part of the design team. As art director and designer for a photographic book about hair care, also managed a team of photographers and stylists on and off photo shoots, allowing the cosmetics company to branch off into new territory (book publishing) thereby expanding their brand and their market. Explored packaging design while creating a men’s gift designated to be shared via social media, continuing to bring new male customers into Lush stores. Illustrated map for tour of London perfumeries to guide international trainers around the city, creating a quick community and ease of communication between people of different cultures, languages, and jobs.
