I started my career at Lush on the shop floor as a Christmas temp, but eventually moved shops and became permanent staff, and was then selected to work on design projects in London (as the company is based in Poole) which allowed me to finally become part of the design team. As art director and designer for a photographic book about hair care, also managed a team of photographers and stylists on and off photo shoots, allowing the cosmetics company to branch off into new territory (book publishing) thereby expanding their brand and their market. Explored packaging design while creating a men’s gift designated to be shared via social media, continuing to bring new male customers into Lush stores. Illustrated map for tour of London perfumeries to guide international trainers around the city, creating a quick community and ease of communication between people of different cultures, languages, and jobs.
FREELANCE PROJECT: Designed and coded news website and app allowing the company to connect better internationally and expanding its communication methods across four generations of employee. Developed a presentation and film as part of a program identifying emerging talent in order to explain to executives how to better communicate together
Course Representative for 2 years, curated and funded year 2 show, personal tutor to students on graphic design and illustration courses
