I am currently looking for work in a digital content-related role. I moved to London from Auckland, New Zealand in September and have been temping since. My last permanent role was working as a digital business reporter for the New Zealand Herald, the country’s largest newspaper, and involved writing stories for both the Business section of the NZ Herald website, as well as for its print edition. The role also included editing and optimising content for the NZ Herald website and promoting content through the NZ Herald’s social media channels. The skills I can offer stem from more than three years' experience writing and editing content for a large news website. I have a solid background writing in different tones for different media and enjoy a creative challenge. In my most recent role I was both writing in and editing copy for the Zen CMS system and writing basic HTML. I am also familiar with the Wordpress platform and am adept at picking up new systems. The role also involved analysing site traffic through daily reports, Chartbeat software and Google Analytics. Furthermore, my background as a reporter - dealing with people from all walks of life - has helped develop excellent interpersonal communication skills. My fastidious nature also makes me well suited to performing administrative tasks with ease, and combined with my hard work ethic, I am a strong candidate for a range of roles.
