  • Big Bang Competiton
Big Bang CompetitonCase Study for Frazall Sponsored by Zephyr Sports The Brief Well the brief for this year’s Big Bang Event Competition was to come up with a brand for an IFO (Identified Flying Object) and three forms of advertising. I began brainstorming a few ideas of what the product could be and how to best advertise the brand and potential product. As my first instinct was to think along the drone and big boy toy root, but I quickly came to the conclusion that maybe a lot of applicants would go along the same process. I began to think outside the box and decided to come up an ad campaign that would advertise the brand. So to do this I came up with the idea of an event that would be held using my brand being Zephyr Sports that would be sponsoring an event using the product in this case a soft foam Frisbee my IFO the event I decided to call it Frazall. So the name Zephyr comes from the Greek name for one of the gods of wind, Zephyrus (Zephyr) also known as a gentle breeze, which was perfect for the brand and product I was thinking to use. Being as a Frisbee uses a gentle wind to fly threw the sky. Inspired to Inspire So why this idea of doing a sponsored event, well there have been many events held previously that help our younger generation into fitness and staying healthy. Which is brilliant but I don’t see many events that bring children from diverse ages, backgrounds and ability. I know football and other sports do a similar thing but I noticed that it’s more of a set age and skill set that play together. I was inspired to come up with this idea of this particular event as when I was growing up there used to be an event help every summer called Play day held in the local community offering the opportunity for families with children of all ages and ability the chance to come and join in a variety of activities they had on offer such as face painting, parachute games a live music stage to join in and dance and coached football and loads more all designed to get adults and their children to socialise with others of a different age culture and just enjoy there day. As time as passed by from year to year the sponsors have faded and so have the major and I what believe social events which to me is a big issue and why the younger generation fade into the wrong exposed crime. So my demographic may be the children my actual target audience is the parents, schools and holiday play schemes to encourage the interaction of diversity through this sport. The game Frazall The game is easy to play and the idea was to bring people of all ages and back grounds and ability together. Frazall was the sport that I created to use as my source of advertisement in where it’s a sport that incorporates the use of the Frisbee but in the context of net ball and football hence FRAZ-ALL, So the rules of the game where that you have to goals and two teams, but once you have the Frisbee you can’t move you can pivot but not run you can however move without the Frisbee to move into the space to allow the Frisbee to be played to you to enhance the chance of scoring. Campaign The idea of this campaign was to start small in the local community to develop the campaign then use the commercial and social media to spread to wider communities building on brand awareness and reach. Campaign Mediums Flyer- sent to schools/play schemes within the local area. Video- posted on YouTube and Twitter. Poster- primary used at event building on brand awareness. Social Media- word of mouth/ engaging with audience. The poster and flyer I used an image of one of the children at the holiday play scheme and used Photoshop to make it a fun and vibrant image to catch peoples eye and incise them as the imagery looks fun and vibrant they would want to get involved and I believe that was achieved without making it simple and obvious as a curious mind is what gets everyone involved. To accomplish the video ad I approached the Holiday play scheme that I currently volunteer for and asked permission to shoot there and they agreed but in order to get the footage I write a permission slip letter to inform the parents and ask to use the children in my project and as I have had a long history of volunteering their most parents were happy to let me procced with the video footage As a result the huge support from the parents I had managed to produce what I believe to be a good short video advertisement that I had added the brand logo to make it look as realistic as a brand I could I think it turned out really well and showcases just how fun it is joining with diverse people and just having a good fun experience hence the tag line I used all over all the advertisement’s I designed “BRINGING FUN TO EVERYONE”. The video ad will be up on the twitter page for you to view I also uploaded it onto YouTube just to help make it more viral and as realistic as brand as possible. To keep brand awareness I created a twitter page that is on the flyer and at the end of the video also to have brand consistency I used the #Bringingfuntoeveryone not only did it keep consistency it allowed me to spread the message. I also developed other hash tags such as #Frazall= Awareness and #Sharethefun= Audience engagement. Thanks Hope you all enjoy my work and I have translated the idea I had clearly and has the impact I wish it to have if there was a brand out there like it. Also I wish to thank you all for the opportunity I have had loads of fun doing what I love to do which is design and spread a message as the saying goes pictures say a thousand words.
