About me
A recent graduate from Nottingham Trent University specialising in fashion knitwear design and knitted textiles with a keen interest in texture, silhouette and quality. Experience on placement in womenswear knit and woven in luxury and high street brands.

    PlayA response to a competition brief set by the Society of Dyers and Colourists. Play is inspired by children's toys and building blocks. The idea behind the collection is that the wearer can layer up garments to create their own combination of stripes as monofilament striping shows reveals the layers of the outfit.

    • Contributed to the realisation of future collections by pulling inspiration and research images, sourcing fabrics and trims locally and from overseas, pulling colours, and hand sketching the collection. • Create colour palettes and matching colours. • Collaborated with the design team on the production of collections by creating and updating CAD sketches, techpacks and summary charts. • Assisted in the preparation of meetings, both in and outside of office, by preparing and updating linesheets and handouts, creating presentation boards, preparing meeting rooms, and gathering and packing meeting materials. • Sit in on and contribute to technical garment fittings.

    • Knitted and embellished samples to generate new garment ideas to send overseas for sampling. • Created full size garment layouts to ensure overseas factories followed garment specs and stitch layouts. • Participated in research trips to ensure our designs were up to date and competitive as well as to gain inspiration.

Education
    Fashion Knitwear Design Knitted Textiles

    This course teaches an in-depth understanding of both the design and manufacturing of knitwear. Throughout the four year course students are trained to use and understand a variety of specialist machinery including domestic knitting machines, dubied knitting machines, power knitting machines, overlockers and linkers. The course also develops CAD skills in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
