Projects
  • City Frames
City FramesThe current situation of the city of l’Aquila, after the earthquake (2009) and the safety issues related to the buildings in the historic center, are the starting points for the development of this urban widespread event. The structures and the projection of selected videos can involve the abandoned public spaces, in order to revitalize the city. The videos are enjoyed through different micro-spaces that allow the users to peek at the forsaken buildings. The structures represent three progressiv
  • Air Gate
Air GateThis project is urban installation that aims to change the user’s perception of XXV April Square, in Milan. It is composed by some inflatables modules connected by a red pipe for the passage of the air. The installation is located in front of the Arc and its goal is to create a filter in order to change the usual people’s journey of the public space. It aims to value the act to crossing the boundary between the snug space of the square and the chaotic environment of the street. The single modules are designed both transparent and opaque in order to obtain different configuration with a unique element. The arrangement of the modules can create a visual connection between different parts of the installation. The repetition of the same pattern can be useful for the production of the modules and for the reduction of textile waste.
  • From Dusk till Dawn
From Dusk till DawnThis project consists in a small theater wherein the penumbra becomes a visual performance, during the day. The space is composed by three different stages: dawn, midday and dusk. The transition of the light, through the stretched ropes and the holes of the surfaces, produces different visual effects. The disposition of the ropes causes the beauty of the penumbra into the space and the stratification of the elements smoothes the daylight. In the “dawn” the ropes are arranged vertically in order to obtain stretched shadows. They represent the beginning of a new day. In the “midday” the small holes produce a strong detachment between the light and the shadow. This contrast is typical of the warmest hours of the day. In the “dusk”, the ropes are arranged in order to obtain a twine. It plays along with the light and creates a snug space.
