I am also a musician, I play the guitar, I sing and have played other instruments including the Balinese Gamelan. I specialize in Rockabilly which has allowed me to branch out into its parent genres such as Jazz, Blues & Country. Having played at Anglia Ruskin University's Jazz Ensemble for over a year to using techniques such as 'Travis Picking' in my work. My aim is to be able to gain the skills to play both traditional and accented forms of music. A guitarist for the university's Jazz ensemble, giving me weekly experience of working with other musicians and working with jazz standards. As well as giving me a more broad taste in Jazz.
In conjunction with my degree and with deep interest in the music industry and upcoming artists I am fully equipped with the skills necessary to analyse music and trends in the industry and write articles/reports on such topics. I have used my time in education as opportunities to write about material I have interest in which gives an example of how deep I can go with my research.
During my second year of study I was a member of the university's Gamelan Ensemble, which taught me how to play the different pieces of the Balinese Gamelan.
As part of my music degree, I was required to sing in the Anglia Chorus. Pieces included Chichester Pslams composed by Leonard Bernstein.
For two weeks I worked as an assistant to the curator for work experience. This gave me experience of working with artifacts, analyzing and interpreting data and working in and with the public. I was also given the chance to write an article regarding rumors and following them through as well as general circumstances of my local village during World War II.
