I am a confident and highly driven Events Manager with good leadership skills. I studied Arts and Events Management at Arts University Bournemouth, working on immersive theatre performances and curating workshops and exhibitions. I have a broad knowledge of media management and event logistics as well as passion for marketing and advertising. With years of experience working in the events industry alongside global brands and charitable organisations, I have developed an active, dynamic approach to work and getting things done, regularly identifying and developing opportunities. I have strong interpersonal skills and am an excellent team worker, able to perform well under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines. The Boarding Schools' Association champions boarding and promotes boarding excellence. The BSA represents over 550 independent and state boarding schools in the UK and overseas. BSA services include professional development, government relations, communications, media, publications, conferences and events. My main roles at the BSA are to event manage the association’s annual conference programme, which includes five residential conferences, to assist in the coordination of the one-day conference programme and to manage all commercial opportunities including advertising, sponsorship, exhibition sales. Main event management responsibilities and duties: - Research, plan and manage the associations conferences with responsibility to oversee every aspect of the event from start to finish -Source, identify and secure speakers, exhibitors, sponsors and advertisers - Responsible for building the conference app, adding content and distributing to all relevant parties - Project and event manage all events on site being the first point for suppliers, delegates and speakers - To assist delegates, speakers and guests during events as required - Responsible for the sale and negotiation of sponsorship/stand/exhibition space to potential exhibitors/partners - Source venues and negotiate rates for conferences - Source and manage production requirements for conferences Other responsibilities of the role: - To be able to prioritise effectively, manage one’s own workload, comprising of many deadlines - To be an ambassador for the BSA and maintain a professional approach at all times - Manage commercial opportunities, maintain existing sales contacts and develop new business opportunities for magazine, events, website and sponsorship - Manage relevant business KPIs - Forecasting and budgeting ensuring events reach target budget and surplus - Be responsible for the design and roll out of all marketing materials for events and content for the termly mailing
Stylist Live is a three day festival of culture, catwalks, cocktails and conversation. It took place over 3 days in November at Olympia and visitors experienced everything they love about Stylist Magazine. This included fashion, beauty, music, books, celebrities, food, drink and much more. My role was to support the Event Manager with the running of the Lead Stage. My main responsibilities of the role were: - Assisting with visitor entry and exit to the space - Monitoring overall atmosphere of the space - Contributing to feeding back visitor comments and suggestions for improvement - Assisting with any general customer queries - Helping the Stage Manager set up the stage for each talk
As I came into the role of Events & Media Manager, on top of my main duties to organise and mange all client events, I took on a number of important responsibilities. Thorpe Park provided an upbeat work atmosphere where I had many responsibilities to handle with at one time. This improved my skill of time management and self- reliance. My role also included constant guest interaction and dealing with guest queries and complaints. This helped me develop my negotiation skills and to be approachable as well as staying professional. One of my main priorities was ensuring health and safety was at its up most. I was in charge of operating a ride for a whole day which gave me so many more responsibilities which I was able to adapt too quickly. This included planning ahead, organising and motivating a small team, quick decision making and paying constant attention to detail and quality.
Concorde Media are a Soho based events, media and celebrity management company specialising in the film industry. I started as a freelancer until 2015 where I began my permanent role, working with a variety of high profile clients on red carpet and charity events. My main responsibilities include: - Managing red carpet media personnel - Organisation of event production including catering, entertainment, venue and set design - Management of logistics including scheduling, health & safety and staffing - Client and artist liaison as well as the development and upkeep of professional relationships
This course prepared me for work within the events industry and gave me hands on experience in organising and curating my own events. As well as this I learned about business management and gained many transferable skills which I will be able to use whilst working in the industry.
