Hello! I am a passionate computer science graduate, closet writer and aspiring marketeer hoping that you’ll consider me for a position. I am hard-working, enthusiastic, and a fast learner.
I spent 6 months working with Sound and Music, the national charity for new music. During my time there I developed an interest and understanding of how data can be used in the arts, as well as gaining experience using social media and MailChimp, working on press reports, working with clients, and building and using bespoke database systems which I am told will be useful for future fundraising. A large part of my job was also collecting information and displaying it in ways which were understandable (both with raw data and research material.)
Over Christmas 2014, I worked at the Fenwick department store in Brent Cross. Working at Fenwick gave me the chance to utilise and improve my teamwork skills, initiative and ability to communicate with a range of people including managers and important people within the organisation. Whilst at Fenwick I: - Helped with stock counts. - Ensured that the shop floor was clean, tidy and was never low on stock. - Spoke to customers and helped them make decisions about products. - Worked on the till whilst always trying to make the customer feel happy and valued. - Worked directly with the department buyer.
In 2012 I worked with the amazon seller Italia Designer Brands to launch their own website, set up their Italian amazon seller pages/stock, writing and edit their copy and make changes to their stock due to changes in the amazon database structure.
I worked as a Sales assistant at Oxfam originally for just over a year and a half, before leaving for University. During that time I - Was part of a team that helped obtain the highest monthly gift aid sign ups we’d ever received. - Worked both in the cashiers till, and in the donation organisation rooms, which meant I gained experience both managing stock, and pricing stock, as well as interacting with customers, maintaining stock levels, and building displays for the shop window. - Was also part of the first teams to build Enfield’s online Oxfam store. We hand-picked the items for the online store, and also managed sending orders to customer.
I’ve worked with Oxfam as a Festival Steward since 2011. Being a festival steward was a great way to meet a lot of people and develop my interpersonal and teamwork skills. Whilst working with Oxfam I was in a customer facing role where I: - Greeted and wrist-banded entrants to the festivals – and most importantly making sure they have all the information they need to have a great weekend. - Patrolled campsites and helped festivallers set up their tents and equipment. - Acted as security to help secure campsites and arena areas. I have also led Festival teams as an Oxfam Supervisor, which has definitely helped me learn to work under pressure. This gave me additional experience where I’ve: - Helped diffuse difficult situations such as a lost child, or customers about festival regulations. - Liased with other festival staff and security. - Organised stewards during emergencies, or to save customers in need.
Toytek is a games company in Guildford which develops indie gaming apps for iPhones. Whilst I was at Toytek I learnt the basics of C++, mini-golf, and wrote articles for their website.
I am trained to teach English as a foreign language in person and online.
