About me
I’m Carlota - a multidisciplinary artist working as a photographer, writer, producer, and actor, with a deep passion for cinematic storytelling across all forms. Whether I’m behind the camera or in front of it, my goal is always the same: to evoke real emotion and capture truth through visual language. As a photographer, I specialize in cinematic portraiture and fine art imagery, drawing inspiration from the emotional weight and visual poetry of film. What I love most about photography is its ability to capture a single, fleeting moment -one frame that says everything without needing words. The kind of photography I do feels like a still pulled from a movie, a scene frozen in time, heavy with story and atmosphere. It’s not just about aesthetics - it’s about creating images that feel alive. To me, a photograph is more than a picture. It’s a feeling, a pause, a moment where something unspoken becomes visible. That’s what drives my work - the power to tell a story in a single frame.
Projects
  • The unseen
The unseenA quiet, emotional short film exploring the blurred line between reality and performance. The unseen was written, produced, and performed by Carlota Peña Jimenez, capturing the final moments of a character as she navigates grief, memory, and identity -both on and off the stage.
  • Take it like a man
Take it like a manTake It Like a Man is a portrait series exploring the emotional silence surrounding male victims of domestic abuse. I co-founded Cinematic Blondes Collective in November 2024 -a female-led, early-stage production company focused on bold, emotionally driven storytelling. Since launching, I’ve written, produced, and starred in all of our short films, leading each project from development through post-production. As a co-founder, I work full-time within the company, but I also have the flexibility to collaborate with other creatives and take on freelance opportunities across different productions. While we’re still in our startup phase, the company was created to give ourselves and others the space to grow, experiment, and bring meaningful stories to life. I’m currently developing our first feature film -a fantasy thriller - which is now in the pitching phase.
