Through exploring the connection between design and semiology, ethnography and participation, my practice investigates how visual and written languages inform each other in the field of storytelling of undocumented communities. I do so through a primary research led enquiry and deep dive into the cultures of study, in order to use appropriate methods of communication, design and production, to embody the subject. Through manipulating graphic form, typographic expression and colour, whilst utilising the physicality of the printed page, I seek to enrich the reading experience by embedding meaning into my design, using visual language as a powerful medium of nonverbal communication. I intend to reflect the dynamic and expressive nature of the study’s visual identity, to immerse the audience within the narrative, by bringing the static page to life.

- The Francis Bacon MuseumA collaborative brand identity project for a fictitious museum dedicated to the Irish painter. The identity for the Francis Bacon Museum is inspired by the noticeable motifs of his art; darkness, disorientation, eeriness, and unconventionality. The branding revolves around irregular shapes, dark colours, bold typography, logo variations, and rough textures. The use of irregular shapes breaks free from traditional brochure design, inspiring an experimental, new approach to graphic design.
