Work history
    Graphic Designer
     -
    • Creative design of glossy magazines. • Creative design of adverts for newspapers and magazines. • Create and design campaigns to run for several weeks. • Design and layout of advertisement features. • Develop designs for leaflets, brochures and logos for customers, linked to their newspaper advertisements. • Preparation and design of the elements for special events - panels, pop-ups, programmes, posters, email invitations and certificates. • Create posters and panels for internal marketing. • Design of Animated Gifs and Flash for use on regional websites. During the 7 years working in this local media company I have been through different changes in the production system and re-arrangement of departments because of the difficult times affecting the publishing industry. However, during this time I was able to support and motivate the sales team and increase the quality of the advertising and events organised by my employer. I have won Designer of the Month several times and my designs and ideas have been selected in internal competitions between creative centres to develop new products and features. In recent months, I have been more involved in the edition and design of special publications in close collaboration with the Editorial department to achieve a more contemporary and fresh look of the special publications and magazines. In the last years, I have developed a more senior role, being a key person to deal with customers with high revenue which demand individual attention and creative design within the newspapers in press and online. Also, I helped with my input and hard work to build long lasting relationships with private and public organisations in the local community, and the preparation of events to award members of the community that requires to do adverts in paper or online, programmes, invites, brochures, pop ups, posters or Power Point presentations.

    • Design and production of a monthly magazine with 124 pages. Maintaining workflow and work planning. • Creative Design, taking briefs from clients and liasing through the design process to produce advertisements, editorials and external material - i.e. brochures, leaflets, stationary. • Account management and design of new project materials and external clients. • Creative artworker of the materials for exhibitions for the company - i.e. pop ups, panels. • Design and Development of web sites from clients briefs using Dreamweaver. • Print Management and sourcing external suppliers. Budgeting and costing jobs. My main role when I started at VIVA Estates was to take charge of the design and production of a 124 page monthly magazine. When I took on this project, three designers were working full time to make sure they met the deadlines. After a few months I was the only one working on this magazine and it took only half of my time. This was possible because I improved communication between departments and I worked closely with the IT department to develop an automatic system to generate classified listings pages. After this success, I was appointed Senior Graphic Designer and I increased art working department output by introducing a new job bag system and online management workflow software that improved the booking, design and archive process of every job. Once this project was finished and in place, I took charge of liaising with suppliers, budgeting and costing jobs, and I was the key person to communicate efficiently with others departments and companies in Spanish and English. At VIVA Estates, my design skills improved considerably because of the high quality standards that a company selling million pounds properties in the most luxurious areas in Spain required.
