Nature has always been my main source of inspiration, this has been influenced by growning up in the Cumbrian countryside and being surrounded by the most beautiful landscapes. I am currently based between Manchester and Cumbria and I work mainly with mixed media creating collages. I like create all of the materials I work with whether it's watercolour washes, photograph's or tree rubbings, which I then layer on top of each other digitally to create the textures, colours and shapes as shown in my work. After attending a tree drawing workshop last year at the Whitworth Gallery, I was given the opportunity to take part in a project to curate and produce imagery for an exhibition, working alongside the Tree Charter, in association with the Woodland Trust and Lyrix Organix. I have been illustrating scenes from the parks around Manchester, focusing primarily on areas that showcase the contrast of trees in their natural surroundings with the urban environment in which they inhabit, and celebrating them in relation of how one compliments another.
