Showroom Assistant

2 week work experience, reporting to the Showroom Manager I was able to learn about different fabrics, see the new installation of the new collection as well as the installation of the showroom re-model. I was able to engage with customers, and scheme for clients, including interior design companies. Specific skills included: administration duties, emailing orders for fabric samples, and following up ones that had not arrived yet, organising the sample room, making a new order system for most efficiency.
Showroom and Visual Merchandising Assistant Designers Guild

I was able to learn about fabrics, engage with customers and help them choose fabric samples based on design specs that were given. I also learnt about visual merchandising - how to utilise a space, what draws customers in. Specific skills included: administration duties, emailing orders for a fabric sample, and following up ones that had not arrived yet, organising the sample room and making a new order system for most efficiency.
