Writing Assistant.Michael Berrow
- United KingdomFreelance
Served as a literary consultant and writing assistant for Michael Berrow, the former manager of Duran Duran. I wrote his recollections into a detailed, timelined document. From this, I worked with comic Peter Richardson to convert these musings into a compelling television script adaptation. - Exeter, United Kingdom
During my time at the University of Exeter, I underwent a fascinating interdisciplinary journey, combining the study of Philosophy and History. This unique program not only provided a comprehensive understanding of both subjects but greatly developed my analytical and reasoning skills. Delving into diverse time periods and countries, I gained a nuanced perspective that enriched my knowledge base. The curriculum emphasized the cultivation of independent thought, empowering me to form my own views and critically assess the perspectives of historians and philosophers on various issues and topics.
In the second and third years, the flexibility of optional modules allowed me to tailor my degree to align with my specific interests and future career ambitions. This adaptability not only broadened my academic horizons but also equipped me with a versatile skill set valued by a wide range of employers.
Active participation in the History and Debate student societies enhanced my university experience greatly. These societies provided a platform for social interactions, engaging seminars, and insightful talks from guest speakers. Through these opportunities, I not only expanded my academic network but also honed my ability to communicate and collaborate effectively.

Student Psychology Award - Lecturers ChoiceThe University of York
The York University Psychology Department holds an annual Sixth Form conference, drawing students from all over the country. This gathering serves as a platform for participants to present their individual experiments and presentations, in order to compete for the top prize.
This paragraph is taken from the Ripon Grammar Website which celebrated the success of the "Exploring the Correlation Between Binge Drinking and Subjective Well-Being."
"Taking the prize in the lecturers vote category were Caspian Barker and James Houseman, who were confident and passionate in their interview with department staff. The professors at York were impressed with their in depth knowledge of their project that investigated the link between binge-drinking and low happiness levels. Although no cause and effect could be claimed they were able to demonstrate their skills in data collection and analysis whilst demonstrating an insight into problems faced by their generation. They were presented with their prize by the esteemed psychologist and professor at York, Alan Baddeley, who pioneered the concept of 'working memory', which makes up a large proportion of the Psychology AS Level."
