I graduated from Southampton Solent university with 2:1 (higher tier) studying Music Promotion in July 2016. As cliche as this may sound I have always loved music, since the day I can remember. The first album I ever bought (well my mum) was 50 Cent’s ‘Get Rich or Die Tryin’ I was 8 and my mum had no idea what Hip Hop was, so she let me have it. That’s when I became obsessed with Hip Hop but whilst growing up I spent a lot of time with my cousin who exposed me to the likes of N’SYNC, Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, Five etc. That’s where my love for pop music started and to this day I still love cheesy pop no matter how “embarrassing” it may be, it’s a part of me.
Since my passion for music has always been in me. I’ve spent the rest of my education life studying music; from GCSE to the degree I have obtained. I’ve been able to go to festivals and concerts, I’ve seen my favourite artists live and now I would love to work with them or for them.
After finishing University I came back to my home town and began working in the Media Industry, I have now gained experience in Journalism and Ad Creation. This has also opened my mind to working in the digital world; from Social Media to Web Design. I love all things tech! Although I haven’t been able to work in music, I have enjoyed working in similar places but without the music factor. I’ve technically gone out into the world and used half of my degree, which is the business side of things from social media planning to content creation. I have been able to use my knowledge and put it to good use on different types of creative industries. I would love to continue in that direction and gain even more experience. You can never learn too much!
