About me
I'm a little bit of this and a little bit of that... I write, I draw and I make. Stories are key to what I do. So far I have made audience laugh, cry and confess their darkest secrets. It's amazing what you can do with words, rhythm and delivery. In 2011 I co-founded my own theatre company Bad Host for whom I now freelance as a writer. I have been working as a playwright and have been commissioned and supported by the Arts Council England on numerous occasions. My plays have been on and yes I have been published. However I am now looking to use my skills within new forms of writing and this is why I am intrigued by Advertising. Having worked on various projects as a producer, maker and copywriter I believe that I am ideally suited to this creative industry. I am fascinated, intrigued and excited about the creative industries and how brands create their own voices (their own characters and stories). Here's another little thing about me I am also bilingual and am happy to work in German: 'kein Problem'..

N4 MusicEditorial and social campaign to support local music aimed at N4 London.
  • They Call Me Nina
They Call Me NinaTHEY CALL ME NINA ME LLAMAN NINA Nina is Peruvian, she lives in flat 243 (officially the unluckiest house number in the UK). Her neighbour Ali speaks a completely different language and is the opposite to Nina in every way. They have only passed each other in the corridor like ships in the night; until now, because when Nina moved in she brought a storm. You don't get to choose your neighbours, and in this dark comedy Nina and Ali are forced to face the world together. Inspired by El Nino and La Nina, the fierce Peruvian weather phenomenon that causes simultaneous storms and droughts across the planet in a pattern of opposites. Originally devised and presented in Peru February 2014, in association with Escena Contemporanea at Teatro Britanico, Lima. This is a bilingual performance (English, Español) . Escrita por CATRIONA KERRIDGE Con VALERIA ESCANDON, CLAIRE THILL Dirigida por NELL RANNEY Música por YUSHIMI
  • When The Lions Drink...
When The Lions Drink...When the Lions Drink... “When the lions drink, London will sink. When it’s up to their manes, we’ll go down the drains. When the water is sucked, you can be sure we’re all...” When the Lions Drink... imagines London in the wake of a catastrophic flood, survived by its soaked inhabitants and haunted by watery ghosts. It explores how we cope with disaster, how mundane objects become tools for survival, and the surreal limbo between living and dying. Told through macabre poetry, sea shanties, and audience interaction, When the Lions Drink... will immerse its audience in a sensory, theatrical storytelling experience. Follow our characters on a journey to discover what happened when the water came, and why they seem to be forever stuck in the sediment. When the Lions Drink... has been developed and scratched at Battersea Arts Centre (October 2011, February 2012, September 2012), at The Old Fire Station in Oxford (May 2013) and at Factory Junction in Wandsworth (June 2013).
  • OCCUPIED
OCCUPIEDFreedom is a marker pen on a toilet wall. INSPIRED BY CONFESSIONS AND GRAFFITI FOUND IN THE MOST PRIVATE OF PUBLIC PLACES, OCCUPIED INVITES YOU TO A SERIES OF ONE-ON-ONE ENCOUNTERS WITH MYSTERIOUS STRANGERS - IN THE LOOS. Welcome to the ladies toilets. The afterthought of many but the most visited part of town. Bad Host will transform this ordinary space - a place lined with sinks, taps and soap dispensers - into somewhere in which dreams happen, where decisions are made and people can meet. Have you ever written on a toilet wall? We have. Occupied debuted at the Battersea Arts Centre in 2011, and has since engaged audiences at Basement Arts in Brighton (Supper Club, March 2012), the Bush Theatre in London (Bush Bazaar by Theatre Delicatessen, August 2012), the Broadway Theatre in Barking (555 Weekend, March 2013), Shambala Festival (August 2013) and the Cornerstone . occupied-heledd-1.jpg occupied-lucy-1.jpg occupied-anne-1.jpg occupied-heledd-2.jpg occupied-lucy-2.jpg occupied-lucy-3.jpg occupied-anne-2.jpg occupied-graffiti-1.jpg occupied-portraits.jpg occupied-graffiti-2.jpg Occupied at Shambala Festival 2013 >> “All I can say is ‘Occupied’ involved innovative (and seductive) uses for a public convenience. This is truly inspiring participatory theatre that rewards the enthusiastic patron and leaves you thinking.” — Joshua Bullock, Fourth and Main “One of my personal highlights... a microcosm of the whole [Bush Bazaar] experience... Fun, silly, engaging, touching, immersive, and thoughtful.” — Roland Smith, Theatre Delicatessen
  • SWINES
SWINESHaving co-founded Bad Host Theatre, I continue to develop, pitch and create new shows with them. Here is our most recent example: Swines s an interactive performance (in development) in which audiences compete for their dream job. It explores capitalist culture through the lenses of extreme austerity and the British gameshow craze. On your marks - get set - go! Climb that ladder, reach for the stars, follow your dreams! You can be anything you want to be. Let Bad Host Entertainment* make it easy for you. Swines is a satirical performance inspired by Britain's game show/talent show culture and the current eco-political climate. In a future not so difficult to imagine competition is entertainment, experience is irrelevant and if you don’t fit in the box you don’t stand a chance. A playfully absurd performance which asks how much control we really have over our futures? *(The bastard child of a British game show and hardcore bingo tournaments, mixed with some cheap biscuits and glitter for good measure.) Perforned at Stoke Newington Intertantional Aiport, 47/49 Tanner Street and The Roundhouse Camden.
  • Fast Track
Fast TrackSix characters, one park: Fast Track follows six young city-dwellers whose lives collide on one life-changing day. Characters run, cycle, walk and hurtle past each other. Strangers confess, love and judge each other. They have one thing in common: they are all stuck in a relationship - a relationship with money. They are trying to find ways to handle it: save it, steal it, exchange it, make it or get rid of it. And as the sun sets and night falls, the park becomes an altogether darker place… Pulsing with energy and dark humour, Fast Track exposes the beating heart of the city and the challenges faced by those that live in it. The North Wall is proud to present the premiere of this bold new play from one of Britain’s brightest up-and-coming playwrights. Featuring live music composed and performed by Wild Swim’s Carlos Posada & Jamie Jay. This production is supported by Arts Council England & The Garfield Weston Foundation. This play is published and available on amazon, The National Theatre Bookstore and on request at any good bookstore. “I was on the edge of my park bench seat throughout!” Oxford Mail http://www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/11525199.Fast_Track_impresses_at_North_Wall/ “Catriona is an exciting new voice in British playwriting,” Oxford Times http://www.oxfordtimes.co.uk/leisure/theatre/11496364.Catriona_Kerridge_is_on_a_Fast_Track_to_fame/
