I am a Printed Textile Designer with strong hand drawing skills and an intuitive sense of colour. I am currently Freelancing part time, working to briefs for a variety of regular clients and projects. I also work on my new business part time 'Cecilia Washburn Designs' which is trend led stationary, homeware & prints with my illustrations and designs of bold coloured hand painted nature & wildlife. Before freelancing, I was working for a premium womenswear brand designing all prints & embroideries as well as designing and managing colour across the range. I have experience liaising with factories and mills in India, China and Portugal to ensure the quality of the final product. I pay excellent attention to detail and have a strong commercial awareness. I am very confident using Photoshop and have strong CAD skills.

Using images from the Gallery's archive these designs are a contemporary interpretation of Morris's Heritage. Square scarves are Silk Twill. Long Scarves are wool silk.

Khujo is a German brand that mostly sells wholesale, it is currently undergoing a re-brand and change of direction so it was really exciting to design their first collection of prints in this new direction. I create authentic and trend driven commercial print designs for a young womenswear brand. The designs I create for both screen print and digital print are from my hand drawings in a variety of styles. All prints designed from scratch, put into repeat and print ready format.

Often working on projects for clients such as the Sir John Soane Museum and Royal Palaces to create premium and trend driven designs which maintain the heritage and identity of the museum yet are fun and modern. I design by manipulating photography and licensing design from museum archives as well as Designing from scratch. My designs are sold at the British Museum, Royal Collection, Somerset House, Ashmolean Museum, Sir John Soane Museum & others.
