About me
I am a curious, self-driven designer who is passionate about advocating for great design across all fields of work. My work style is underpinned in my cultural roots by the need to leverage emerging technologies and bridge diverse communities, while prioritising social good. Being able and open to learn and grow in an ever-changing world, as an individual and as a team, is my biggest driver of positive change across all areas and industries. Having received invaluable guidance from mentors and the design community, I’ve become passionate about developing younger designers. My mentors’ encouragement and willingness to teach me, has inspired me to pay it forward, whether it’s exploring solutions with different stakeholders, translating design to development, facilitating design education, and empowering teammates in collaborative settings as a leader with a big heart.

    As the Lead Visual Designer at GetSmarter, an EdTech company, I am responsible for a number of key objectives: Conceptual (quality of problem-solving and brainstorming ability) - Conceptualising and answering briefs autonomously and brainstorming innovative and functional solutions with key teams; - Assisting my manager with process strategies and principles for design that meet the requirements of the team as a whole; and - Guiding Junior, Mid-Weight and Senior Designers in conceptualising. Communication (quality of written & verbal communication and relationships) - Establishing and fostering excellent relationships with my team and stakeholders; and - Providing feedback and guidance in a clear and respectful way to peers, junior, mid-weight and senior members of the team. - Initiative (quality of proactive ideas and innovations) - Proactively iterate designs and solutions based on marketing performance data and feedback; - Contributing to innovation within the department proactively; - Assisting my manager with innovation in strategies and principles for design trends and new technologies that drive the team forward; and - Guiding and encouraging initiative and proactivity in the team. Leadership (level of training, mentoring, managing and upskilling) - Managing my team members' performance, development and workload in a constructive, supportive manner; - Providing guidance and mentorship in all areas of work for juniors, mid-weights and seniors; - Assisting my manager and the Talent department with recruiting top tier candidates and on-boarding of new hires; and - Assisting my manager in defining and achieving annual and quarterly priorities for the team. Quality (level of design output and level of reviewing required to obtain desired output) - Producing and driving the creative output to an industry-leading standard, as well as continually increasing the quality of creative work produced by the team; - Refining the QA process and implementing measurement tools (e.g. rubrics) to result in optimal, error-free output; and - Responsible for final sign-off of all creative work produced by the team.
