Hi, My name is Charles. I am an aspiring Artist and Film maker, looking for work in any kind of Creative industry where my skill set might be useful. I have been in full time education up until last Summer and have completed a BA (hons) Fine Art Degree. Since then, i have worked on a number of film/advertising projects as, either part of the production team or, as a runner. I am now looking to continue gaining experience in the creative industry, either through short or long term employment. I am an accomplished (award winning artist) and a hard working, fast learning employee. I hope i get the chance to work with you in the future, Charles
For this job, i was part of the Production team filming the advert and online content for the upcoming 'Bend it like Beckham' - the Musical. During this job, i was tasked with co-ordinating over 50 actors as we filmed on the streets of Southall (West London).
Between August and December of 2014 i was part of the production team filming both 'The Rise of The Krays' and 'The Fall of the Krays'. During this time i learnt to work in an extremely pressured environment, working 14 hours a day, 6-7 days a week.
Whilst studying at University, i was approached by Crew Clothing company to produce several hundred small abstract paintings for their various shops across the UK. I think that this job helped me learn how to complete a task under pressure as, often, i was tasked with producing dozens of paintings with only a weeks notice.
Once i had been accepted by Central Saint Martins to undertake a Foundation Diploma starting in September 2010, i decided to use the time leading up to this to see a different part of the world and gain some job experience. I was able to find a job at a resort in Phuket Thailand, working as the Front of House manager. I enjoyed this work greatly and i think i gained a lot of people and language skills from it. I now speak very (very) basic Thai.
Last summer i finished my degree at City and Guilds of London School of Art, leaving with a BA HONOURS in Fine Art and Painting.
Before completing my degree in Fine Art Painting, i completed a 1 year foundation course at Central Saint Martins. I enjoyed my time their greatly and believe that i gained a lot for spending a year in a fashion driven environment.
In 2010 i was selected from over 10,000 entrants as the winner of the National Open Art Competition. My winning work was the final piece of a project focussed on identity and isolation. The painting itself was a semi abstract work depicting an empty chair. http://www.thenationalopenartcompetition.com/gallery2.php?Empty-Chair-314
