About me
I'm a designer and creative thinker based in East London with over 15 years' experience working in the design industry. Most recently I spent eight years at a MediaCityUK-based agency, five of those as Senior Creative Designer. I love to tell stories and good design always has a story behind it. My first love is print, and the tactility of paper, but I'm also fascinated by branding, the endless potential of digital media and how the two can combine. I'm committed, approachable and work hard and always use these traits to understand the client and the project. I've worked with a lot of wonderful and exciting clients. Some big, some of world renown and some small. They include Manchester United FC, English Federation of Disability Sport, the People’s History Museum, United Utilities, TalkTalk, Museum of Science and Industry, the NHS, Warrington Wolves RLFC, National Museums Liverpool and the National Media Museum. All of them are as passionate and resolute about their stories as I am.

  • WARRINGTON WOLVES - Wire to Wolves
WARRINGTON WOLVES - Wire to WolvesWarrington Wolves were one of the original 22 founding clubs of the Northern Rugby Football Union in 1895 and one of the 12 founding clubs of the Super League era. In the 121 years since its formation, the history of the club and the town have been intertwined, experiencing sporting highs and tragic lows.
  • MUSEUM OF SCIENCE AND INDUSTRY - Window Graphics

  • UNITED UTILITIES - A Life on the River
UNITED UTILITIES - A Life on the RiverTo celebrate the opening of United Utilities' £200 million extension to Liverpool Wastewater Treatment Works by H.R.H. The Princess Royal in April 2016, a commemorative book was produced in a limited run of 100 copies. The book is a visual record of the River Mersey and the city of Liverpool as it grew and prospered from its geographical significance. Specialist Printers, Pressision, provided invaluable creative support and advice, sourcing paper stock and printing. The book was then hand finished by specialist bookbinders Spink and Thackray. A rich variety of historical photographs were sourced. The images document the thriving and bustling life of the dockers and sailors who helped shape Liverpool. H.R.H. The Princess Royal was presented with her own personal copy of the book during the opening ceremony. Bellowing steam ferries, white trans-atlantic liners, cranes, stevedores, shipyards, trains, smoke, chaos, hooting, hammering, puffing, the ruptured bellies of the ships from all the continents of the world... And if I heaped up words for another half an hour, I wouldn't achieve the full number, confusion and expanse which is called Liverpool. Karel Capek, Letters from England, 1924
  • NHS - Can You Afford Not to Quit?
NHS - Can You Afford Not to Quit? The dangers of smoking are well known but the health warnings can go largely unheeded by many long term, unrepentant cigarette smokers. Research has indicated that the first month is crucial when attempting to quit smoking with nicotine taking between two and five weeks to leave the body. Aiming to influence a change in attitudes it was decided to tackle the problem from a different perspective. A campaign of 6 sheet posters were devised, emphasising the financial benefits of quitting for one month and giving people an incentive to focus on. The campaign was nominated for The Drum Creative Out of Home Awards in 2012.
  • MANCHESTER UNITED FC - Who's That Team We Call United?
MANCHESTER UNITED FC - Who's That Team We Call United?A permanent, interactive exhibition detailing and comparing the lives of ten of the greatest footballers in the history of Manchester United. From the pioneering Billy Meredith and struggles to form The Players Union to the original superstar, George Best, and the wealth bestowed on players of the Premier League era. The exhibition explores how the lives of footballers and the wider society that supported them has changed over the decades. A 42” interactive touchscreen depicts 10 examples of the managers’ office from the past century. Each office contains 11 interactive information points on each player’s life. The evolution of training and tactics, players rights, wages, ticket prices and life after retirement. A picture gallery and clips of match action, including rare and unseen footage bring each era and player to life. Each player is introduced with a short animation covering key aspects of their life and career at Manchester United. The animations were created by the in-house animators at Fuzzy Duck. Shortly after the project was completed the museum was awarded Large Visitor Attraction of the Year at the Manchester Tourism Awards in 2013.

     - Manchester, United KingdomFreelance
Freelance graphic designer working through Orchard, a specialist freelance recruitment agency. This was my second period with Orchard. My experience allowed me to work with a number of respected design agencies and companies in Manchester and Liverpool, providing experience and support on multiple projects. These included editorial design, exhibition concepts, html mail designs, website assets, presentations and marketing collateral. I was also fortunate to gain experience working on projects for clients that differed greatly from my previous experiences. These included several large housing associations and a five week period at BML, a highly regarded national law firm.
