About me

I am just about to finish my Fine Art degree in the next couple of weeks and am looking for a fun and exciting job to jump straight into. I am leaving my job as a Gallery Assistant in Hampshire and move to London and I would love a job in which I could transfer the skills that I have learnt there. I have been heavily involved in all promoting and marketing aspects of the gallery. I find it such a fun and exciting thing to do, creating new ways of advertising and promoting the company. I help a lot with the website and building this into a more appealing experience for online sales, I also have created my own website for my own art practice ( I have skills within most aspects of computing and use photoshop in a lot of my artwork at the moment. I also know my way around a camera, having studied it at GCSE and also continuing with these skills during my degree. I am a really creative person and I am happy to try anything. I love working in a creative team and bouncing ideas off each other. I am such a hard worker with great references and it really would be such an amazing experience to work within another creative company.

Work history

Gallery Assistant

Gallery Fifty Five

Sep 2013
  • This job requires me to help with selling artwork and having a good knowledge of all the work within the gallery. I also have had experience with interviewing artists for a space within the gallery. This job opportunity has also allowed me to practice my curatorial skills with setting up a number of shows throughout my time there. This role also included marketing and event management, in terms of private views and new exhibitions. I helped grow and improve the social media aspects of the business and also helped with the website, as well as promotion of the gallery.

Waitress & Bartender

The Cricketers

Mar 2015 - Aug 2015
  • I have learnt many skills in this role; my ability to work within a team is one of them. Within a short space of time I was able to learn the routine of the work place and work effectively with the rest of the team. Through this job I have learnt how to use a till system, improve my communication skills and to think and apply solutions quickly. Good customer service is the most important requirement within this role and I feel that I achieve this, as I am always reliable, punctual and polite.

Dressage Groom

Private Company

Apr 2009 - Apr 2012
  • I worked alongside the owner of dressage horses, to bring various horses back into work after injury. This job was very demanding and required a lot of patience and determination to continue getting improvements from the horses. I had to ensure that my employer was happy with the way I worked and always asked ways in which I could improve. This job taught me a lot about time management and reaching goals on a daily basis.

Volunteer Groom

Rycroft Riding School

Apr 2005 - Jul 2009
  • Within this job I did the normal yard duties, such as mucking out, caring for the horses and also tacking up. During the job I spent a lot of time with clients, helping with any questions that they had about the horses. I also helped within lessons by getting people on and off horses and preparing an arena for a lesson. This period of time was very helpful in improving my confidence and encouraging me to communicate more with clients.
