About me
I have this year graduated from the University of Lincoln with a First-Class Honours in Fine Art, and I am looking for a chance further explore the creative field. I am an active and committed artist, and I particularly enjoy working with a criterion, and to a deadline. Despite have a degree in Fine Art, my work has always had a very traditional approach. I am a skilled and very capable freehand artist, and thrive when working with someone to create artwork with a subject and criteria.
Projects

6-HB NetworkDrawing: Drawing is essentially a technique in which images are depicted on a surface by making lines, though drawings can also contain tonal areas, washes and other non-linear marks. (Tate Online, Undated) Evolution: A process of gradual change occurring in a system, institution, subject, artefact, product, etc., esp. from a simpler to a more complex or advanced state. Also: a gradual and natural development as opposed to a sudden or instigated change (Oxford English Dictionary, Undated) Because of the scale of the final drawing, it was inevitably going to need a lot of invested time, hence why it was started so early into this project. This piece require times because it enefits from changing and adapting as my understanding develops. The use of the word evolution is a considered choice. I deliberately set up a starting point without a pre-determined end and committed myself to continually working on it systematically through the term until the point it is displayed at the Apex Degree Show. During that time, not only would my own working process evolve and become more efficient, by the background ideas would begin impacting and integrating themselves into the work, changing the final outcome. The second implication of the word ’evolution’ also stamps a ’Work in Progress’ status on the drawing. The indication being that this is a illustration of a mechanism that could endlessly grow. Initial intentions to fill the entire canvas changes as I progressed. Whilst seeing a such a complex network reach from border to border may indicate that it can continue beyond the page, I re-evaluated that when a composition began to form itself. Allowing my eye and the composition to guide the marks made, I began favouring the unfinished lines and white space as a clearer indication that this drawing is one that has the potential to continue.
