I am a soon-to-be graduate, currently completing my Masters degree in illustration. I am seeking an entry level role in the publishing industry due to my long standing, and ever increasing, desire to work with children’s books. During my degree I have developed an excellent eye for detail as a result of the intensive research and practical tasks that were required. This means that I am no stranger to working under pressure, with multiple tasks being completed simultaneously. I have worked in both the retail and childcare sectors whilst studying but it is the publishing industry in which I feel my skills will be best utilised. I am looking for a challenging and fast-paced
environment where I can use my creative knowledge and develop my professional career.

I was offered a two week placement in the creative studios of Hallmark Cards near Leeds. I worked on a range of projects both in a team and through independent inquiry. I researched trends, applied design and experimentation before presenting my final outcomes to the senior staff. I felt very much at home in the buzzing, creative studio.

During the course i was lucky enough to be offered a work placement at a prestigious greetings card company which was an eye opening experience into the workings of a large creative studio.
