I am an Emmy-Award winning content creator and social media strategist with more than 10 years of industry experience. My social media-marketing journey began while I was working as a freelance entertainment blogger for the Chicago Tribune. Because bloggers were paid by impressions, I intuitively used social media as a means of driving traffic to my blog posts. As a result I organically grew an online readership to one of the highest on the blog and gained thousands of social media followers. Other online publishers and business took notice of my digital success and contracted me to help build their online audiences. I created the foundation for BlackDoctor.org's Facebook page, which now boasts more than 1 million followers, and I worked with the NBC5 Street Team on a groundbreaking 24-hour live streaming, blogging and social media project that garnered a regional Emmy Award. I also worked with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) UK an affiliate of PETA US -- the largest animal rights organisation in the world -- as the youth content coordinator. I launched their Instagram account and penned 44 Accidentally Vegan Snack Foods for PETA UK, which is the most popular blog on the website to date. In 2015, completed a master's in Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship - Design Pathway at Goldsmiths College, University of London. My research heavily focused on how design can be used as a means of developing online trust with Millennials and Gen Z. I am now a lecturer at Goldsmiths on their highly popular short course: How to Run Social Media and Digital Marketing Campaigns, in which I teach students how to implement social media campaigns in a straight-forward and cost-effective manner. And I recently worked with Whalar, an influencer marketing platform and agency as a campaign manager, where I worked with brands such as Diageo, L'Oreal, Unilever, Dubai Tourism and Warner Music.
