About me
London-based illustrator Chrissie Macdonald approaches her craft in three dimensions (and usually with a scalpel) to make sculptural compositions from cards, paper, acrylic, wood, emulsion, metal, plastic, and spray paint.
These materials' constraints help inform her visual language. Although she believes a handmade touch is intrinsically appealing, problem-solving and communication are paramount. She regularly collaborates with photographers to create images of her work that play with reality and scale.
As co-founder of the multidisciplinary group Peepshow Collective, she collaborates with other members on illustration, animation, and installation projects. She was also a resident artist at Somerset House's Pick Me Up Graphic Arts Festival.
