Director of CHK Design studio + Art Director of AD Architectural Design magazine. Art directed and launched various magazines such as: make, Miser & Now, UPSTREET, Palladium, Sluice. Founder of Acme Fonts, an established digital type foundry. Lecturer on the MA Communication Design course at Central Saint Martins College (UAL). Author of 'Restart: New Systems in Graphic Design' (Thames & Hudson). Conceived, curated and designed 'Design Now – Graphics' at the Design Museum, London.

    Visual Identity and Website design by CHK Design.CHK has designed a new visual identity and website for the amazing interior textile studio Govindia Hemphill. Collaborating with a wide and loyal client base, Sharmil and Sally’s reputation has been built on their extensive experience as well as their visionary design concepts. The new identity was a great collaboration between our two studios, signalling the next chapter of Govindia Hemphill.

Each page throughout this issue is subtly (and randomly) invaded by digital glitches — interrupting the flow of information — contrasting with the vernacular design applied.

The Longevity issue deals with the the complexities of ageing. Espe writes: “I’ve chosen to embrace it rather than resisting it, recognising that it is inevitable; ageing is, after all, a natural part of life and, as much as we don’t like it, there’s no remedy for it.
