My most recent position was as a Kindergarten Co-Teacher at a prestigious International School in Phuket.
For the last term of the 2019 academic year, I worked at BCIS, an international school following the British Cambridge curriculum. I worked as a co-teacher in Kindergarten. Therefore, my roles would include teaching English and Maths, overseeing EYFS time, and helping students on a one-to-one basis. I followed the many rules and regulations to ensure students safety and well-being is cared for.
I was employed by Educate Abroad as a temporary cover towards the end of the school term. I taught English ESL lessons to all Prathom 3 and Prathom 4 classes. As the sole teacher of these lessons, it was my responsibility to plan accordingly, teach and mark. I taught sixteen classes, each for the duration of an hour every week.
I was employed by Mister English, whereby I taught English, Mathematics and Science to Prathom 5 as part of an IEP program at Bang Niew Municipal School. I was responsible for all duties within the role, including lesson planning, marking, conducting each lesson and helping with any outside activities that involve English. I carried out an average of 18 hours of teaching per week. I also worked at Mister English on Saturdays where I carried out private lessons. I taught English to a group of women for two hours per Saturday. I also taught English to an individual Prathom student for two hours per week, covering topics such as tenses, verbs and adjectives.
Starting in April 2016, I worked for Echo English, which is an agency providing teachers to schools within Thailand. As a BAT (Business and Teaching Intern), I split my time based at the Bangkok office carrying administrative tasks, and also as a teacher in schools. At the office, I follow the recruitment process, arrange interviews, post recruitment adverts, update social media networks and ensure any other administrative tasks are completed. For the teaching aspect, I worked on a substitute basis, covering for any current teachers in schools on an as and when basis. I have taught English, Mathematics, Computing and Work Education. This has enabled me to build my teaching skills, along with incorporating games, activities and songs into lessons. As part of this internship, I have completed a face-to-face 120 TEFL course, which is a worldwide recognised certificate allowing me to teach English.
