I am a hard-working and driven individual who thrives working in a creative environment. After completing a degree in English Language and Linguistics, and having two years of restaurant management under my belt, I am looking to progress, transfer and lend my creative and communicational skills to advertising.
I am currently interning for a few months at isobel to assist with one of their larger accounts. They are producing a new campaign for Hammerson shopping centres including print and television, and I am getting in contact with press offices, PR agencies, and stores for brand permission and/or loans. I excel at building relationships with the clients, which is extremely important, as isobel can pick up the contact on their future campaigns. I also create release forms and courier items and paperwork through London. I create and manage large Excel spreadsheets for finance, contacts, and products, whilst also creating Powerpoint presentations to show to the account directors, which products will be in which section of the campaign. Working under the account director, and senior account director has meant that I have had, and taken, the opportunity to learn everything that I know about the clients, media, TV and print, programming, and the agency.
In this role I have gained both experience and knowledge of how to appropriately manage front of house and administrative tasks concurrently. The job has taught me to be methodical and meticulous in many ways; taking care of customers whilst making sure they are having the best experience at Kooks, assigning duties to other members of staff, managing big parties, overseeing the entire restaurant and making sure things are running to the highest standard. One of the most beneficial skills I acquired is through advertising the restaurant and their events on social media. Creating and advancing a client base on Twitter and Facebook allowed me to have an understanding of the current market and consumer activities to edit the posts accordingly. -Key skills acquired include; completing and sending out the bi-weekly rota, advertising on social media, cashing up, ordering, stock take, dividing weekly tips to staff, banking the weekly takings, training new staff, managing and liaising with big parties to get their pre-orders and deposits whilst accommodating to their special modifications to the seating, menus, etc.
I worked with the creative services department and international agency sales. The company was setting up a new ratings blog website that was predominantly governed by the audience. However, I proofread blog posts that were emailed in to then be published onto the blog website. I also replied to posts in response to the Viacom portfolio of MTV, Comedy Central and Nickelodeon. I also went out of the office to take photographs to publish on to the blog page of the public wearing different brands; it was for a new marketing design, a project that they continued to work on after I had left.
