About me
I am a highly motivated writer who is able to produce engaging and humorous content for a wide range of mediums.
I have spent 4 months doing unpaid work experience, my web comic (blackandwhitecomic.com) attracts 5500 hits daily and my YouTube channel has received over 32,000 views. Also whilst in University I spent 2 years running and performing in stand up comedy events around Bournemouth called Aristocrats Comedy.
I have experience writing for a myriad of platforms and am always interested to see creativity expressed in new ways. In writing for sequential art I have written pieces of varying lengths for several different formats; I have written online comics which serve as introductions to interactive, educational segments. I've also been writing stories which contain split narratives allowing the reader to dictate the path of a given story.
When coordinating with artists and editors on projects I have always been accommodating, easy to work with and reliable. I meet deadlines, whether its working on my own initiative or as part of a team.
In addition to writing and illustration/graphic design, I am also comfortable working with Wordpress, HTML and CSS Stylings. I also have experience performing administration for websites as well as social media outlets, providing face-to-face customer service and producing documents/forms in Microsoft Office and Excel.
My ideal role would be a varied and challenging position that will enable me to consolidate my professional experience, expand my knowledge and provide opportunities for personal and professional development.
Although I have gained experience in independent production I feel my career would benefit greatly from a trainee ship. A lot of my media based work experience was conducted through emails or over the internet in general so I feel that working in an environment face-to-face with other people will help me to establish contacts as well as improving my collaboration and communication skills.
