I've been a photographer for 11 years now, but have only recently made the leap into full time freelancing. My website is predominantly travel documentary, but also contains creative work for bars, restaurants, dance schools, a make up artist and a short film in New Zealand. My passion lies in travel, but nothing can beat the rush of a complete project where new things have been learned and a team has come together to produce a piece full of the best of collaborations. I'm keen to get stuck right into new projects with other creative minds.
Ciarran Minns Photography has an impressive portfolio of travel documentary images, but has also taken contracts for commercial and creative work for bars, restaurants, a short film, a make up artist, a dance school and a theatre. CMP enjoys working with a dynamic team, twisting, turning and overcoming challenges and obstacles to produce a continuous flow of creative projects.
Ovingdean Hall is an impressive Georgian building, most recently converted to become a successful International Langauge College. I trained as a TESOL teacher and taught numerous students in New Zealand and the UK for two years before moving into the Sales and Marketing team to increase my skills in this area. My time at OHILC taught me huge amounts and raised my awareness of the motivation and perserverance needed to succeed with Ciarran Minns Photography.
I have travelled extensively since 2004 culminating in my last big trip in 2009. I left for South East Asia as a prelude to Australia and took various jobs in the southern hemisphere while building my portfolio with travel documentary images. I also traversed New Zealand and lived in Wellington for six months and it was here that I began teaching.
RSCAD was a highly successful art college during the mid-late 90's and early 00's. They were often found in the finals of the annual student competitions and due to their impressive equipment, never ending support and motivational level of study, I continued after my National Diploma to complete my BA in Photography and Digital Imaging here.
