Projects
  • Genius Loci
Genius LociAn outcome for visualising Chelsea College of Art which place is famous for fine art. The project is to capsulate the spirit of a space and visualise it in any formats, and the spirit I found from the place is relaxation. I decide to make the outcome to interact with people that makes them feel relaxed visually and physically, which it turns out to be a big handmade cushion painted in a pink toilet and blue sky, as regarded to fine art it’s always painting that comes to people’s mind on the first place, and contemporary art pieces are difficult to understand and make people curious about “what is it”. Besides, the fun combination of the appearance is a relaxation sign itself already. Moreover, before computer widely being applied for making design, graphic design had been approached by hand making from the very beginning, which is also an echo I want to express through this project.
  • CTS Catalogue
CTS CatalogueThe catalogue includes some representative writing pieces during my study at Contextual and Theoretical Studies session in London College of Communication at the second term when I was at year 1. Since most of my writing contains lots of images, I decide to make the overall design in a lifestyle magazine way, which should enhance the content and help readers to navigate while browsing it. This catalogue is inspired by the first mail-order catalogue Tiffany Blue Book, published in 1845 in the United States. I am using Baskerville and Grotesque from that eras to interact the content with these historical typefaces whereas expressing a modern editorial design. The covers is designed in a “mail envelope” situation to reflect the inspiration.
  • Zhang Garden Habitat
Zhang Garden HabitatThis is a cultural event organised by Oriental Danology Institute, partly supported by the Chilean Consulate. I was taking the project along with my previous creative director Cruz Maria. We choose the visual elements from traditional Chilean fabrics in terms of colours and patterns. Since it is a cultural event which is down to earth we put on more brownish color on the viusal Identity.
