BA Hons Applied Arts First Class

UCA Rochester

Sep 2005 - Jul 2008
  • Rochester, United Kingdom
  • My degree encompassed a wide range of materials and processes: Textiles, plastics, resins, wood, metal and ceramics. I specialised in jewellery and ceramics to create ranges of sentimental contemporary jewellery that explore the value of memory and possessions through nostalgia and irreplaceable objects. Exploring the value of relationships and family I create wearable objects that provoke the wearer and the audience to contemplate how sentimental value can be perceived through personal ideals.

  • Judges’ comments: The Teacher of the Year Award aims to celebrate the amazing work of practitioners who innovate through design education to make Design Ventura a success for their schools. This year’s winner led a dynamic project involving 120 students, industry experts, and colleagues from other subjects including English, History, ICT and Geography. This project showed the relevancy of design and enterprise across the school curriculum. Thank you Claire!
