I am a creative and outgoing individual, I believe my education to date has stimulated my keen interest in the use of language within a marketing context, it is something I would like to base my career on, and I realise I am at the beginning but I am keen to learn and prove myself. In my free time I enjoy creating/editing short films, sailing, having previously taken part in races such as the Round The Island Race (Isle of White), as well as skiing and partaking in Ashtanga Yoga. I am also very passionate about music and have attended various festivals. In the past, I have taken part in poetry competitions and have had two of my pieces published in poetry anthologies.
Currently I am involved in marketing a short film production, Bayonet. The process involves setting up social media pages for the film, gaining followers, assisting in the creation of a crowdfunding page, and assisting with networking. At present, I am in the process of developing a tone of voice that can be used across social media platforms.
Working alongside ARK Energy to: - Help the company find an appropriate tone of voice for the homepage and then as a copywriter to better present its contents. - Create an online leaflet and online technical brochure for ARKive (now Artesian), a product currently in beta and due to be launched end of June 2018. - Help the company find an appropriate tone of voice for the home page and user guide contents of its online European energy information portal (k4view.com) launched in May 2016. - Review the language utilised in the menu structure for a forthcoming K4VIEW app to ensure a smooth user experience (available on google play and the app store from December 2017). Currently I am engaged in presenting detailed cases of use for the K4VIEW platform in support of the next step in its commercial campaign and the launch of its new home page. Throughout these roles it has been extremely important to portray a level of technicality whilst keeping the language understandable and interesting for potential clients. Use of excellent spoken and written language has been crucial throughout the roles.
Recently I was involved in a script translation for short film Sweet Maddie Stone. I assisted director Brady Hood in translating the script in preparation for its admission to Italian film festivals.
Hold Tight Records was established in 2015 and throughout 2016 I volunteered and helped them create a voice across social media platforms, placing them in good stead to carry on themselves. Roles included promotion work and keeping followers and various social media profiles up to date with upcoming events and news.
This involved finding photography related topics to write about for a Bristol based online magazine releasing weekly articles. All topics were found, researched & written in a solo manner, so organisation, networking and creating reliable contacts was vital to successfully meet deadlines.
