Colin has a background in BBC radio promotions, and since his role as executive producer of station sound at BBC Radio 1, he has maintained a hands on approach to all aspects of the creative content production process. He is a founder and director of two production companies, specialising in entertainment content and music publishing, working with clients such as Sky and EMI. Colin has a broad range of experience spanning the entire creative content delivery process, from sourcing presentation talent, devising, scripting, and producing audio/visual features and content, creating bespoke music imaging and sound design, to editorial decisions at an executive level, including business development, pitching and marketing. More recently this experience includes series production for television.

I managed the station sound dept at BBC Radio 1, leading a team of three to focus the sound of BBC Radio 1 and appeal to a new generation of young radio listener. I produced daily promotions, imaging and campaigns. I introduced pre-produced music segues across the daytime format, in order to blend key marketing messages into the core of the music output. My achievements were recognised by the Radio Academy with the following awards: Sony Radio Academy SILVER for BBC Radio 1. The Station Imaging Award 2006. Sony Radio Academy GOLD for BBC Radio 1. The UK Station Of The Year 2006.
I was on the launch team of the BBC's digital radio station 1Xtra and defined the audio branding of this national youth brand. This was recognised by the BBC Radio & Music Awards when I received GOLD for BBC 1Xtra as Promotions Producer Of The Year 2003.
This was a highly vocational Masters Degree in radio drama and broadcast journalism. I was a student member of the NUJ, and working for LBC while studying.
This BA degree allowed for modular course building over the four years. It was here that I honed my creative writing and critical thinking skills, and developed my passion for storytelling. I focussed on writing and performing my own work, alongside a more classical English Literature degree.
