I was born and bred in Melbourne, Australia and was living in Athens, Greece for the duration of the '00s. Following years of working as a graphic designer and in various office/secretarial roles, in 2011 I enrolled as a mature student at the University of Brighton and in 2014 I completed my BA (Hons) in Graphic Design. Immediately upon graduation I enrolled on the University's Masters course in Arts and Cultural Research. During the Practice-led Master in Research, I organized workshops, presentations and coordinated a team of participants that experimented in community-generated comics via an online interface that I personally designed. The Research brought to light issues of authorship through community-generated narratives via visual media. I have also studied Film Editing and have a long and successful history as an award- winning comic book creator and illustrator in Australia, Greece and the UK; therefore, I can provide the professional creative and communication skills that I have acquired through the years, as well as my mature conduct. Having completed the design degree and with my long experience in the creative fields, I am also fully familiar with Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Dreamweaver and I have a strong design skillset including typography, composition and layout, as required for the vacancy. I am a multi-awarded (Comic book artist of the year in Greece in 2008 and 2010) and published comic book author/graphic novelist for the past 20 years. In Autumn 2015, Omnibus Press will be publishing worldwide the 450-page graphic novel, Tales of The Smiths, which narrates the early history of the band The Smiths. Interviewed by Omnibus Press for the graphic novel: https://vimeo.com/123942557 Interviewed by MTV Greece for the graphic novel: https://vimeo.com/100880926 Beyond the above, I am the creator and curator of the Brighton-based Arts and Culture website, The Streets Today which showcases local talents and events on a weekly basis. http://TheStreets.Today Samples of my work can be viewed at: conchrisoulis.com/Con_Chrisoulis_Portfolio_graphics.pdf
