About me
I am currently a graduant at the University of Exeter, studying French and German with Spanish and will graduate with First Class (Hons) with Distinction in Spoken French. Having been a regular contributor to the student newspaper on a variety of themes, I aim to work in journalism, media and/or travel after graduation - especially reviews, criticism and opinion columnism - as well as continuing to expand my professional circle. I am a personable, driven and ambitious candidate and as a linguist, possess excellent analytic, communicative and interpersonal skills. I also have a large penchant for Jaffa Cakes. Examples of my writing can be found at: theconnorsseur.wordpress.com
Projects
  • Exeposé
ExeposéThroughout my degree, I have been a regular proofer of and contributor to Exeposé, the University of Exeter's student newspaper, writing on a number of topics both in-print and online, including travel, comment and news.
  • The Connorsseur
The ConnorsseurSince 2013 I have maintained a personal blog, The Connorsseur, writing a number of opinion-style pieces about a range of topics, including creative writing, cultural items and current affairs. Within this blog, I have also documented my experiences of working and living in France on my third academic year abroad, as well as my travels across Europe. I was also personally approached by the University of Exeter to share my year abroad articles on the University's own blog.
  • The Daily Wiz
The Daily WizI was contacted by Wizbii, a French professional social network for young people, to write education- and career-based articles for their chronicle, The Daily Wiz, This required adopting a specific tone for predominantly non-native English speakers, but still retaining and entertaining and informative function.
